Contractor Licensing Notice

Elegant Kitchen Cabinets operates under California Contractor License #1145191, held by Elegant Closets Construction Inc. The company is bonded and insured as required by California law.

Contractors are required by law to be licensed and regulated by the Contractors State License Board, which has jurisdiction to investigate complaints against contractors if a complaint is filed within four years of the date of the alleged violation. Any questions concerning a contractor may be referred to the Registrar, Contractors State License Board, P.O. Box 26000, Sacramento, CA 95826, or by visiting www.cslb.ca.gov.

Home Improvement Contracts

All home improvement work performed by Elegant Kitchen Cabinets is governed by a separate written Home Improvement Contract. Estimates, consultations, design conversations, website content, and informal communications do not create a binding home improvement contract.

Before any work begins, clients receive a written agreement that outlines the project scope, selected materials, pricing, payment schedule, timeline, and applicable consumer protections required by California law.

Down Payment and Progress Payments

For home improvement projects, the down payment will not exceed one thousand dollars ($1,000) or ten percent (10%) of the contract price, whichever is less, as required by California Business & Professions Code §7159.5.

Progress payments will not exceed the value of work performed or materials delivered. Any design retainer or pre-payment will be clearly disclosed in the written agreement.

Mechanic’s Lien Notice

Under California law, contractors, subcontractors, laborers, and material suppliers who provide services or materials for the improvement of your property may have the right to record a mechanic’s lien against your property if they are not paid.

The full Mechanic’s Lien Warning required by California law will be provided in the written Home Improvement Contract before any work begins.
